I am not the person using Leapster Explorer but my 3 year loves it he did drop it once already so it is sturdy. This is a very good product for children.

My son got Leapster Explorer for Christmas and hasn't put it down. The graphics are great they compare to real a game systems like a DS. My son is 4 years old and I will not buy him a DS like he wants and so he talked his grandmother into getting this for Christmas and he has played it not stop. Usually the problem we have is that the games for toddles the graphics are so bad that we will not play them or the games are boring. These games are fun and educational so its great for all parties involved and he doesn't realize he is learning. The games are a little costly ($25) but not as bad as a Wii or an xbox game so I'm fine with it.

My daughter has not put Leapster Explorer down all day today. I read a lot of reviews between the Leapfrog, the Mobigo and the Nintendo DS. My daughter is 5 1/2 and I thought the Leapfrog was our best bet before the Nintendo DS. The mobigo didn't seem to offer the variety of games. We purchased the camera/video camera add on for the Leapfrog but haven't connected it yet because she hasn't put it down in time for me to install it. The Mr. Pencil application had her going for hours and she asked me to erase it so she can start all over again. We are very happy with the purchase and look forward to more games.
